St Mary’s Paeroa celebrated 30 Years of PFGM in June with a Mass followed by a shared dinner, cutting of a special cake made for the occasion and fellowship.

A special 30th anniversary banner which displayed the Aims and Goals of the movement was erected by Clive and Frances Bleaken the Hamilton Diocese Directors for the occasion.

The aims and goals encourage each of us to be open, to share our lives, accept others as they are  and support each other in times of need and celebration.  They are as relevant today as 30 years ago.

A photo board was on display which included the comment:

“ We were all a bit younger and crazier then and there were lots of kids”

The cake was cut by 6 original members including Lynn and Rob Hill whom initiated and help set up the groups in Paeroa 30 years ago and went on to support the setup in many other Parishes around NZ.

Charlie expressed it was a small gathering but very real and intimate.

This is Gospel Love…………when we are able to give up our own wants to help or support another.
