Morena / Good morning,

Hi all.

I have been asked to contribute my reflections in this newsletter 129, while Paul and his son Sam are Walking the Camino Walk. Our wishes and thoughts go with them as they tick off one of the ‘wish list’ Paul and Sam had spoken about a number of years ago.

We also follow our New Popes’ journey into his new role which appears to follow one of the philosophies of The Passionist Family Group Movement: The People, The People, The People.

Have a great week – God go with you,

Murray Straight

Scripture reflection

My faith is driven by the Love of God and we are taught by Jesus to ‘Love one another’. I recently read a comment on John’s Gospel 14:26 that was asking what this part of today’s Gospel teaches us?

‘God himself will come and live inside us, he will never leave us or abandon us, he will always be there in anything we face in life. And specifically, Jesus tells the disciples that the Holy Spirit will teach them all things and remind them of all Jesus has said.”

This also applies to us, and Jesus is waiting for us to ‘invite’ him to walk with us as we travel life’s winding path. We also have to be awake to see the signs. These are often simple. When we look, we can see this in people around us, our environment, and our amazing scenery. We also have to Love ourselves so that we can ‘Love one Another’

Never underestimate the Spirituality that lies in the smaller things that happen every day.

Remember the example you give is the best teacher for our Family, our Friends, our Parish and our community. Consistency in this example will encourage others to follow, just like Jesus encouraged people to follow him.

What better way is there to Spread the Word?

Murray

We pray the Jubilee Prayer for ourselves and our world.

Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.

May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation
of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory will shine eternally.

May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread
the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise for ever.
Amen

   Humour:

  • What did one DNA say to the other DNA? “Do these genes make me look fat?”
  • My IQ test results came back. They were negative.
  • Why can’t you trust an atom? Because they make up literally everything.
  • Why was six afraid of seven? Because seven eight nine.
