New Plymouth, Taranaki – February 2007

The first formation weekend for the year was held at New Plymouth on weekend of 24-25 February. It rained from lunchtime Saturday to lunchtime Sunday and was lead by Fr Brian Traynor CP.

Our theme for this year is ‘5000 People’ , and we look at how Jesus fed the 5000 people, and how we bring the vision of Jesus into our Passionist Family Groups.

Some comment from the weekend:

  • PFGs look at a wider vision of ‘parish’
  • We’re learning from one another. Members how love and concern for one another and that attitude ‘rubs off’

PFGs make a difference:

  • Relationships are formed
  • We are more welcoming of new parishioners
  • We create relationships with the people we at Eucharist with
  • We need to interact, as well as worship together
