Kibbutz Metzer on the green line neighbouring Palestinian villages

The kibbutzim and the villagers have lived side by side as friends for half a century. There was a killing of a single mother and her 2 children and the leader of the Kibbutz. The Palestinians had easy access to the kibbutz prior to this.

The members of the community are determined that they do not want to sacrifice the good relations. The Government is planning to put the wall between the two communities. The Kibbutz has appealed that it be placed on the other side of the Palestinian village

They are planning a memorial to the children, which will be a playground for ‘children’. The leader spoke of the changes taking place as an inevitable part of evolution. The young are not willing to put money into the kibbutz if they cannot be guaranteed a full return on their money

Left wing South Americans mostly make up the membership of Kibbutz Metzer.
